At Butcherknife, we’re always supportive of anyone looking to bring more awareness to craft beer and the different nuances of specific styles. So when The BARley Craft & Draft of Steamboat Springs announced “IPA Week” it didn’t take much for us to get on board.
Now through March 8th, visit The BARley to experience 15 of the country’s finest IPAs from Colorado, California, and beyond. Some of the out-of-town beers featured this week include:
- Comrade Brewing Superpower IPA
- Russian River Blind Pig
- Renegade Brewing Elevation Triple IPA
- Dogfish Head 60-minute, 90-minute, and 120-minute IPAs
As far as local brews go, you bet that we’ve come up big with an exclusive unveiling of our Decapitator Double IPA. The Butcherknife Decapitator is a close relative of the Amputator but with some subtle differences. From this one, you can expect:
- 11.2% ABV
- Same grain bill as our Amputator but with a slightly different hop schedule
- The addition of ginger, for taste
Now keep in mind that many of these fine IPAs are in limited quantity and when they are gone, they’re gone. This includes the Butcherknife Decapitator which will go quickly.
The BARley is the ONLY place you can find the Decapitator so get in there to enjoy this potent and delicious offering.
IPA Week at The BARley ends March 8th. But don’t fret. Owners Chris and Meg Stromberg have a few ideas kicking around for next events. Be on the lookout for a summer “Sour Weekend” with Crooked Stave Artisans and their sour collection. They’ve also got plans to add a 31st tap featuring cask conditioned concoctions from Hogshead Brewery.
Amongst his personal favorites, Chris lists the Russian River Blind Pig as his #1 go-to, but for good reason. When Chris and Meg got engaged, they quickly popped into Russian River and ordered two IPAs to celebrate the occasion.
For that we say… Good on ya, Chris!
